Meta Restructures Its Metaverse Platforms
Meta has announced the merger of its ‘metaverse’ platforms, Horizon Venues and Horizon Worlds. The US-based social media giant has been hosting three-dimensional virtual events within Horizon Venues since 2020.
Effective June 6, Meta will continue these virtual reality activities within Horizon Worlds, leading to the discontinuation of the Horizon Venues application.
As reported by Metaverseplanet.net via VR Scout, Horizon Venues will be integrated into Horizon Worlds on June 6. Consequently, the platform hosting live virtual reality events will be exclusively accessible through Horizon Worlds.
META IS CURRENTLY ACCESSING USERS AGES 18 AND OVER
Conversely, users aged 18 and above currently on Horizon Venues can take part in virtual events such as concerts, comedy shows, and sports events.
Meta users have the ability to navigate the company’s ‘metaverse’ platform in a 180-degree view. On the platform, users can explore buildings, participate in optional virtual events, and socialize with other users.
